On Family Day, we were blessed to have our members invite their loved ones to worship with us. Dr. Charles M. As we continue our 100th Church Anniversary celebr As we continue our 100th Church Anniversary celebration, we extend a heartfelt salute to the dedicated members of our Kitchen Committee. Over the years, these incredible people poured their hearts into serving not just food, but fellowship, making every church event a warm and welcoming occasion. From cake and punch, preparing feasts for special events to serving up comfort at a repast, we appreciate their hard work behind the scenes. The kitchen is often the heart of any home, and our church home is no different thanks to their efforts. Wednesday Meditation: Energy For Today Therefore, Wednesday Meditation: Energy For Today Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Life can be demanding and draining on our energy. Amazingly, new technologies designed to speed up progress, save time, and make life easier have done the opposite. People find themselves exhausted with little time to spare after daily activities. Supplements and caffeinated energy drinks offer limited help. However, the Scriptures offer their remedy to our energy depletion. Hebrew 12:1-2 Scripture: "Therefore, since such a great cloud of witnesses surrounds us, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith." — Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV) Reflection: Technology and quick fixes might offer temporary relief, but they often leave us feeling more burdened. The Scripture in Hebrews reminds us to focus on what truly matters: casting off distractions and persevering in faith. By fixing our eyes on Jesus, we find renewed strength and purpose, much deeper than what the world offers. Supporting Scriptures: Isaiah 40:31 - "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength..." Matthew 11:28 - "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Takeaway: The energy we seek is found not in worldly solutions but in aligning our lives with God’s will, persevering in faith, and drawing strength from Him. Conclusion: In the race of life, let us not rely on the false promises of modern life, but on God’s power and guidance. Let's shed the unnecessary burdens and distractions that drain us, and instead, find our strength and purpose in Him.
Wednesday Meditation: Standing Firm in the Face of Wednesday Meditation: Standing Firm in the Face of Adversity We have been reminded lately that politics is a brutal business. Loyalty can be fleeting, and you find out who your enemies are. One show of weakness and some of those who claimed to be your steadfast supporters will turn on you. This harsh reality mirrors the experiences many of us face in life, especially as we age or encounter difficulties. Scripture: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9 (NIV) Supporting Scriptures: ● Isaiah 41:10 (NIV): "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." ● Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV): "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." ● 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV): "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." Takeaway: Just as President Biden stood firm in the face of adversity, we too must remain steadfast in our faith, trusting that God will never leave or forsake us. God's love and support remain constant regardless of who turns their back on us or questions our worth. Conclusion: Life will inevitably present challenges and moments of doubt, often amplified by the opinions and actions of others. However, in these times, let us draw strength from God's promises. He calls us to be strong and courageous, assuring us of His constant presence and unwavering support. Trust in God, and stand firm in your faith, knowing He is with you always.
